FFC Hosted Community Workshops
In November 2015, FFC members hosted four impactful workshops for the Riverton community. The workshops were on:
Youth Leadership - Hosted by Ayako Turnbull with guest speakers, Jamaican TV personality, Adrian Brown and young Jamaican entrepreneur, Mario Palmer
Positive Parenting - Hosted by Ayako Turnbull, FFC President
Empowering Entrepreneurs - Hosted by Paddy Gallagher, FFC Board Member and Milltown Bar & Grill Owner
Money Management - Hosted by Feven Berhane, FFC Board Member and Scotia Bank Trust Officer
Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle - Hosted by Aaron Chin, FFC volunteer and National Sales Lead for Organika Health Products
Over two days we had over 60 community members, young and old, come out and partake in our interactive workshops. All participants received refreshments and an FFC Certificate of Participation. Thank you to everyone for coming out and making each workshop a success!

The Gift of Water
In Riverton there are only two main water taps to hydrate the community of thousands. Some homes have been able to hook up water directly onto their property but the majority must walk and gather their water for cooking and cleaning. FFC recognized one needy family and changed their lives forever for less than $200CAD. Now the children can use the time saved from going to and from the community water tap for better use like studying or just giving them back the gift of their childhood free time.
Supporting the Health Clinic
Requested medical supplies have been donated to support the community health clinic. By donating in-kind medical products like basic first aid supplies and multivitamins, the Riverton Health Clinic has been able to see more patients than ever before. We are grateful for the wonderful partnership Organika Health Products and all other doctors and dentists offices that have donated supplies in the past! FFC has also taken part in community outreach by helping with house visits with the nurse to elderly people.
Making Mobile Connections
Old cell phones from Vancouver supporters were donated to community members of Riverton Meadows. Land lines don't reach most residents in Riverton so having a cell phone is a necessary means to connect with the outside world and to apply and retain jobs.
